Project
Built for the Demands of Wastewater Treatment
A wastewater treatment facility on Vancouver Island needed a custom control panel to support plant operations serving approximately 29,000 residents and businesses. The facility provides secondary treatment for multiple coastal communities and also handles trucked waste from septic systems and holding tanks.
Turn-Key Controls built the panel with Rockwell Automation and Phoenix Contact components in a Hammond enclosure. The finished assembly was laid out for clear wiring paths, accessible terminals, component visibility, and practical maintenance access.
For plant teams, those details matter. A well-organized panel makes commissioning cleaner, troubleshooting faster, and future service work easier to manage.

Project Outcomes
Challenges Solved Through Serviceable Wastewater Panel Design
For this Vancouver Island wastewater facility, Turn-Key Controls built more than a control enclosure. The panel was designed to support plant operation, operator access, varied wastewater demands, and long-term serviceability in a demanding utility environment.
Handles Varied Wastewater Demands
Supports plant operations that include secondary treatment as well as trucked waste from septic systems and holding tanks.
Supports Island Wastewater Service
Built for a Vancouver Island facility serving approximately 29,000 residents and businesses across multiple coastal communities.
Gives Operators Local Control
HMI programming and panel-mounted controls provide a practical interface for monitoring and operating connected equipment.
Simplifies Long-Term Service
Rockwell control hardware, Phoenix Contact components, organized wiring, and accessible terminals help plant teams maintain and troubleshoot the system over time.
Why It Matters
Better Panel Design Makes Plant Work Easier
Wastewater facilities depend on control panels that are clear, accessible, and built with maintenance in mind. When wiring is difficult to trace, components are crowded, or operator access is poorly planned, routine service and troubleshooting become slower than they need to be.
For this Vancouver Island facility, Turn-Key Controls built a panel that supports both plant operation and the people responsible for keeping the system running. The combination of Rockwell control hardware, Phoenix Contact components, HMI programming, organized wiring, and accessible field connections gives operators and maintenance teams a practical system to work with over time.
That is where Turn-Key Controls brings value: not just in building the panel, but in building it for the way plant teams actually use it.
